FAQs
Is this oil safe for sensitive skin? Yes. When properly diluted, Persian Rose Otto is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and mature skin. Always patch test first.
What is the difference between Rose Otto and Rose Absolute? Rose Otto is steam or hydro-distilled, whereas Rose Absolute is solvent-extracted. Rose Otto is purer and better for skincare applications.
Why is Persian Rose Otto more expensive than other rose oils? Thousands of petals are required to produce 1ml of oil, and the steam-distilled process is labour-intensive.
Can I use this in perfume-making? Yes. Its soft, honeyed floral notes make it perfect as a heart note in natural luxury perfumes.
Is Persian Rose Otto vegan and cruelty-free? Yes. Our Persian Rose Otto is 100% plant-derived, with no animal testing or animal-derived additives.
Is the scent strong or overpowering? No. Persian Rose Otto is known for its subtle, layered scent. It has a soft floral aroma with less sharpness than other rose oils.
What does ‘low methyl eugenol content’ mean? Methyl eugenol is a natural compound that can cause skin sensitivity in high concentrations. Our Persian Rose Otto is distilled to have low ME content, so it’s safer for cosmetic use.
Can I apply it directly to the skin? No. Like all essential oils, it must be diluted in a carrier oil before use on the skin.
When is the Persian rose harvest season? The main harvest is in June when the fields are busiest.
