Hip and Joint Dog by Winston and Porter | The Hackers Market

Hip & Joint Dog is our everyday joint powder for dogs. It contains the four key joint nutrients (glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and hyaluronic acid) at clearly stated levels, made in the UK with human-grade ingredients. Simply mix it into your dog's food, from around 53p a day for a medium-sized dog.

Who it's for

Hip & Joint Dog is a good choice if your dog is:

  • older and starting to stiffen up, especially first thing in the morning or after a long walk
  • a large or working breed whose joints carry a lot of weight or work
  • an agility, flyball or sporting dog (see the competition note below)
  • young and active, and you'd like to support their joints for the long term

Not sure which supplement is right?

  • Hip & Joint Dog: our everyday joint powder, with glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and hyaluronic acid.
  • Hip & Joint Dog PLUS: the same four nutrients at the same levels, with serrapeptase, a natural enzyme, added.
  • Max Strength / Max Strength Plus: a joint-support porridge that also includes our full Nourish + C multivitamin and mineral blend. Ideal if you'd like joint support and all-round nutrition in one.

What's in it (per medium-dog daily serving of 6.5g)

  • MSM (methylsulfonylmethane): 2,500mg
  • Glucosamine HCl: 2,500mg

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Hip & Joint Dog and Hip & Joint Dog PLUS?

Both contain glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and hyaluronic acid at the same levels. PLUS has serrapeptase, a natural enzyme, added. Hip & Joint Dog is the same formula without it, at a lower price.

How soon will I notice a difference?

Every dog is different, but many owners tell us they see a change in their dog's movement after around three weeks of daily use. Give it at least a month before judging.

How long does a pouch last?

It depends on your dog's weight. A 200g pouch lasts a medium dog (15–40kg) 31 days, a small dog (up to 15kg) 44 days and a large dog (40kg+) 15 days. The full feeding table is above.

Is it suitable for competition and working dogs?

Yes. None of the ingredients are banned by the GBGB, IGB, ISDS, British Flyball Association, IFSS, the Kennel Club, UK Agility or BASC. Full details are below.

My dog is a fussy eater. Will they eat it?

It's a fine powder that mixes into your dog's usual food, and lots of our reviews mention dogs happily eating it. If your dog is wary of anything new, start with a smaller amount and build up over a few days.

Can I give it alongside medication?

If your dog takes medication, is injured or has an ongoing health condition, please check with your vet before using this supplement.

Can I claim for it on pet insurance?

Some of our customers have successfully claimed for this supplement through Petplan. Check your own policy, as cover varies.
